The College Board (AP) is very clear that absolutely ALL artwork submitted is original! Therefore, you are on the hunt for visual resources and make sure they interest you/could be part of your concentration. Pick 4 themes and shoot all 50 photos of each theme. Put them on your Google drive if you lack phone space! These photos are Due Sept 4th!

Visit the College Board (AP) website and look through the student examples for concentration portfolios. Read their statements and create a 13th work of art that matches their theme.

Each week, students are to email Mrs. Kubu ([email protected]) the following:
-What you did this week
-Something new you learned
-What challenged you and how you overcame it
-A photo/video of your progress
-Your next step

When you finish a project, turn it in with this printed rubric and a written/typed artist statement (see below).

Click here to read about writing your artist statement. You should write one artist statement per work of art. There may be some overlapping themes, materials, etc. Yet, each should be unique.
eNTERING A SHOW
*Remember, your art work must be submitted by the end of January. This means you filled out appropriate forms, paid an entry fee if applicable and prepared your piece for the show by matting it, etc. by the end of January.
When searching, look for art exhibits, art shows, juried art exhibits, local galleries, greater-Lansing galleries, Michigan venues or you may search for out-of-state venues. You are welcome to do more research on where you can submit your art work, but here are a few sites to get your started:

MSU Federal Credit Union - this would apply to our timeline and requirements (see me for application)

FINAL EXAM PROJECT
Due by 12pm Noon January 18
You are to create a PowerPoint featuring your artwork from this semester.
Make sure to include the following for each project:
---a clear picture/animation of finished project
---title of work
---medium/program used to create work
---artist statements
The last slide will be a written reflection on the course. Use the prompts to help you reflect:
My strength during this independent study was...because...
My biggest challenge during this course was...because...
If I could do it again I would change...because...
Some advice I would give a student who is considering taking this course would be...because...
I am proud of...because...
Include any other reflection you want to add as well. Don't feel limited to these prompts.
